Job Description:
Our client is a local authority based in the South West of England seeking a new Manager within the Housing Department; now dealing with over 5,000 households on the Housing Register and more than 500 homeless people in temporary accommodation. With an extremely stable team, they currently have a rare opportunity for the right candidate to join them at a senior level, to lead and manage a team of 3 Housing Officers and various other staff within the team.

Upon appointment, the primary function of the role will be to assist the Strategic Housing Manager as a prime mover in the development of strategies, opportunities and partnerships to satisfy housing needs in the area within affordable and temporary housing. As the successful candidate you must be a proactive individual with a determination and drive in order to create and deliver housing solutions. You must also have experience within housing development as client or commissioning officer or have experience enabling the public/private sectors. You will additionally have experience negotiating with developers, landlords or agencies. As such, you will also be innovative, determined and tactful with strong management and teamwork skills.
